Wedding Ring FAQs
When is the best time to buy a wedding ring?

Weddings are expensive, and sometimes couples come to us to buy their wedding rings a month away from the big day and almost out of money. Wedding rings are a symbol of your love and last for a lifetime, so we recommend that as soon as you start planning your wedding, come and buy your wedding rings. That way, you can be assured that you have the most important part of the day sorted first.

How much should wedding rings cost?

Typically, the average cost of two wedding rings would be around £1,500, but this can vary hugely. Wedding rings can be made from a variety of metals, but the most popular materials to use are 8ct to 18ct gold. However, platinum bands are more expensive, while titanium costs less. Come into our store with a price in mind, and we’ll help you to find the best wedding rings for your budget.

How does a wedding ring fit around an engagement ring?

A wedding ring should sit next to an engagement ring perfectly. There are many different design options available, so when you choose your wedding ring, always keep your engagement ring in mind.

Does a wedding ring have to be a traditional metal band?

Wedding rings come in many different styles, from brushed metal to bands inlaid with diamonds, and from black metal to intricate designs. Lots of our customers don’t want to stick to traditional styles. We’ve got so many great options available for you to choose from, and of course we can design one especially for you.

What finger do wedding rings go on?

Traditionally, the wedding ring sits on the fourth finger of the left hand - the one next to your little finger. For women, the wedding ring traditionally goes on the finger first, followed by the engagement ring. On your wedding day, leave your engagement ring off so you can put it on top of your wedding band later, or wear it on your right hand during the ceremony.

Do men have to wear a wedding ring?

In our experience, when it comes to wedding rings, Manchester men seem to be fine with wearing them. It used to be the case that only women wore the jewellery, but over the decades that has changed. There will be men who still feel jewellery just isn't for them, which is obviously totally fine, but we’d encourage you to take a look at our collection before dismissing the idea entirely.
